I have been somewhat a mechanic/gearhead since my teens—if not before. When I was 16, I had a credit account at the local NAPA (probably not legal, but the owners knew me and trusted me, so….)
When you grow up in the country, one thing you do—besides run from Barrel Race grils, they crazy!—is work on cars and trucks.
I restored my 1980 Ford F350. I never really shot any video of it, but have a bunch of pics. I am going to post now and then that process.
Recently, I rebuilt the trans on my Harley (may post those vids in future) and fixed an ongoing issue when I bought the bike by tightening up the handle bars. They slipped. That is the video in this post, and yes, this is me.
MEN should learn how to do things like this. The greatest minds did not sit and read books all day—they figured shit out, and managed their own household. From Socrates to Jefferson, they spent time working out household problems, and inventing/fabricating. Managing one’s household includes knowing how to…manage it. Socrates did not wander in the marketplace all day. He also went to war for his city.
IF we are heading toward a period where—like Cuba—we are forced to be self sufficient, we need to know how to preserve liberty even if ever so slightly. I will have more to say about this in the future…meanwhile enjoy this older video.
Now back to Grant…and I am reading Cicero right now too.
