Yesterday, I got into a little constructive debate with a Twatter anon over the recent suspension/ban of @theamstatesman. This recent ban joins the plethora of the persona-non-grata: Milo, BAP, etc. Funny how our side is shrinking isn’t it?
In response I wrote this:
Migrate to other platforms people. Let’s git off this sheeeit. I’m on gab and minds. Gettr appears to be rising
In response, my frand @Baldaccios enjoined:
Ghettoization is a false hope. It can be useful for communicating to our own side, but twitter is a powerful platform and will be with or without us. Being able to mock and bully advertisers on their turf is powerful spiritual combat.
There is some truth to the argument that Twat is a powerful platform, and that retreat from the platform is in a sense counterproductive. I should have not written git off, but diversify your social media portfolio (that was my real point). Josiah Lippincott understands the value in Twat mock, and wrote:
Social media provides a powerful avenue to wage spiritual insurgency. Mockery is kryptonite to our regime’s self-serious arrogance. Even gentle prodding can provoke devastating and embarrassing outbursts from our sclerotic leadership class. On July 22, for instance, I asked a two-star general on Twitter to explain his relentless pushing of COVID policies that appeared to have a profoundly negative effect on suicides and mental health among the troops.
He lashed out, tagging my college and insulting my argument without providing any real counterargument. The response was devastating. Hundreds of ordinary people retweeted the exchange, shocked by the outburst. The general locked his account as criticism poured in. The exchange became a national news story.
I would suggest that there is a deeper role to play in engaging the bug man. In Uyanis Buyuk Selcuklu (ep. 7), an effendi, Abu al-Ghazali, states, we read the poisonous because we want to discover the antidote to the poison. Providing a publicly stated, and well reasoned “antidote” is salutary for the public mind. However, the poisonous ideas in the mind of the public will never be completely eradicated. Those who burn books (ban) have weak minds. It is up to those who have a strong mind to present a formidable defense of the λογος.
By all means mock the left. The GAE brigade, normies, bug-men, clowns, of all stripes should be laughed at; every opportunity should be siezed to point out their complete intellectual and moral bankruptcy. So, I was not making the case for the Benedict Option. Far from it. I was contending for a multi-faceted strat.
Make a Plan
Merely dunking on normie Twat is not enough. 90% of Americans do not use Twatter. Depending on who you read, Twatter is either growing, or declining in users/growth. It is difficult to know since the company is not exactly transparent in their usage stats. They are flattening out from all we can tell, however. Further, it may feel good to you, when you post the zinger publicly demonstrating the normie wears no clothes, but that is subject to diminishing returns. Keep doing it, but have a plan B. And, we need a more comprehensive way to speak to people. No one on Twatter not already there is going to be persuaded.
This is all the more important, since it is Twatter that is in effect, ghettoizing its own platform. To the anon, sure, there is no loss in being banned. You can just create another account, and then go about your merry way mocking the left. However, you are going to be mocking the left on a platform that is increasingly homogenous in an echo chamber of leftists. Trigger them, sure. But, this is a diminishing return. This is the real ghettoization.
What about those who have a significant brand and are banned? They cannot simply create a new account. Their brand, and their revenue stream is going to be harmed. Attaqd! This is why Styx, Razorfist, Tim Pool, Jack Murphy, and a plethora of others have put into place a plan to survive when/if Twat bans them. [They are also self-censoring themselves. Is this a good thing? More on that below]. They understand that playing on the enemy’s field and relying on their good graces for your livelihood, is no reliable business model. This serious concern is why I first tweeted to get off and figure a way to communicate outside the censorious platform. Many on the alt-right/insurgent right need self protection and a plan.
We should should start thinking about alt-tech, not as an avenue of heading to the “ghetto” but as an additional way to speak to users who are persuadable. The left is not persuadable. This is why more people are leaving oligarch tech for alt-tech. As Styx has said many times: get in on the ground floor or be left behind. There’s some truth in this.
Enter McLuhan—You Already Belong to a Tribe
There is a great misunderstanding that comes with the rise of electric media—hence social media. Marshall McLuhan made it clear decades ago that along with the medium comes a re-tribalization of society. This, he says, is inevitable. You may complain about ghettoization, but it is clear that 1) Twatter will enforce its tribe and exclude those outside of it, and 2) people who do not want to belong to that tribe will create their own. You might call this process, naturally human.
As Mcluhan said:
The overhauling of our traditional political system is only one manifestation of the retribalizing process wrought by the electric media, which is turning the planet into a global village…The electronically induced technological extensions of our central nervous systems, which I spoke of earlier, are immersing us in a world-pool of information movement and are thus enabling man to incorporate within himself the whole of mankind. The aloof and dissociated role of the literate man of the Western world is succumbing to the new, intense depth participation engendered by the electronic media and bringing us back in touch with ourselves as well as with one another. But the instant nature of electric-information movement is decentralizing—rather than enlarging—the family of man into a new state of multitudinous tribal existences.
Oh, but it gets worse:
All our alienation and atomization are reflected in the crumbling of such time-honored social values as the right of privacy and the sanctity of the individual; as they yield to the intensities of the new technology’s electric circus, it seems to the average citizen that the sky is falling in. As man is tribally metamorphosed by the electric media, we all become Chicken Littles, scurrying around frantically in search of our former identities, and in the process unleash tremendous violence.
Some might think that remaining on Twat, and only on Twat is doing you well. You might be right, for a while. But the bell tolls for you. Then what? And, it needs serious consideration that while you may not feel like you are already in a tribe, you actually are. The actions of those who poke at the normie and laugh, are already speaking a tribal language. McLuhan:
Because education, which should be helping youth to understand and adapt to their revolutionary new environments, is instead being used merely as an instrument of cultural aggression, imposing upon retribalized youth the obsolescent visual values of the dying literate age.
Even the great Leo Strauss, understood all this—that the “broadcast” of media “transforms” a people.
The alt-right is a manifestation of all this. It has its own logos. The glory days of the Phora, or even Salo—not to mention 4chan—demonstrate this quite clearly. Normie, bug-men, fagcath, soi boi, GAE, ghey, etc., is a language to itself. Mock the left with it, they will never really understand it because you are not speaking their tribal language. They only sense they’ve been ridiculed. That’s why they are mad. Small minds. BAP book triggered the left which misunderstood all of it. Only those who saw its appeal—those who could sense a word upside down and were already schooled in a certain language—could be persuaded by it. There’s a man who wears green gloves in Hong Kong.
You might be saying to yourself, well this is all quite f-ing depressing, thanks. You would be right if all I was saying is this. I am not.
Speak to Your Potential Frands
If you realize what is before you, the sides are pretty well formed. It’s time to realize what time it is. A subtle, and perhaps too subtle, purpose of my Tweet was to encourage the right to engage their side. Twitter does not really do that—shitpoasting is not persuasion per se. There are exceptions of course, but those are getting less frequent. Meme wars are fabulous, until elections are stolen.
The right needs persuading, moderating in a reasonable way, about what to do, and how to do it. That means we need to pursue alt-tech options in order to speak to “our side” for lack of a better phrase. We need a diversification of communication. If a new regime is coming, this is where the action should be.
There are a lot of people adrift who would be quite receptive to the argument of American Greatness, for example. Are we reaching them on twat? Hardly. There may be a few, certainly, but this is not enough for victory.
There is another consideration here that Steve Bannon went off on yesterday. The right needs courage. Enough already with the losing strat of complaining. DO SOMETHING to protect the safety and happiness of American Citizens. There are many on the right who need to have their moral compass bolstered, and their manliness reinforced. Twatter will do NONE of that. We need to speak to our own probably more so than skewering the GAE party.
The Demographic shift that has been working on the country for the past 2 or more decades, presents opportunity here—the role of the states are necessary in the line of defense against the overreaching despotism of GAE. This, is one way to persuade the public mind, and also a far stronger communicative strat than Twat mock. Rather, in conjunction with Twat mock, a ground game with frands is a better way to go. Take over your precincts. Walk away from public ed, and school your own children.
Symposium? Yes!
We need a way not to just speak to our political allies, but also, to create a space for our banquet where we can feast. No more self-censorship. It’s inhumane in some ways to always be on guard in regard to timeless topics. Persecution and the art of writing can save you for a while, but we also need a Symposium. In other words, we need a space ot speak freely, if not privately, on a larger scale. This is already habbening of course, in discrete ways. But the only way to keep political philosophy alive, is to keep political philosophy alive.
This may require a sort of going underground. We gather at night, near the Πειραιάς. At some point, speaking between the lines will not garner you as much as you might want because, not everyone has the 1) time to decipher the arduous effort it takes to decode απορρητος, and, 2) reaching them is a different process and requires delicate skill. People simply do not have time to spend to understand subtle nuances in political speech. In the end, you are going to be kicked off social media anyway.
Equally important, we need high tech samizdat and low tech samizdat. To keep the communication alive and the exchange of prudent ideas disseminated, we should consider going off-grid, somehow, in certain and particular ways. High tech has its value in the modern world for a peaceful political resistance. However, with the realization that through this highly centralized medium, we are unsure about whether our own personal government agent is watching us, there needs be additional measures of security.
Low tech is one of those. It’s not practical, but it is necessary I think in the days ahead. High tech gurus think everything can be captured in their computer chair as many are “online.” Are they? Actually, many people are leaving online and homesteading. I personally know a few who are contemplating being online less, being self-sufficient more. Include me in this.
Homesteading also means building community—a real community. This rebuilding is the bulwark against GAE. It is the real defense of real people. Twatter can’t do that. Real action, real work, and real protection comes out of this manly movement. This is why we see many people going off grid in red states. This does not mean you remove yourself from the political? Far from it. But it does mean a public spiritedness will be bolstered as a result; recovery of natural right depends on this. And the right needs more of that. Our first line of resistance will be here.
Further, maybe we should start communicating more in personal, and if not that by old fashioned low tech letters. Buy a typewriter—manual of course. Create an alt right pony express. Difficult and slow to do? Yes. Possible? Yes. Practical? Maybe not, but it is going to have to be. Can GAE track you in this instance? I bet they have forgotten how to set up a forward and follow operation. It takes a lot of manpower. They are getting lazy because they think everything can be done online. That’s a fantasy. And, humans do not work that way.
The only way to eat and have our relishes, is to find a way to speak to each other about serious topics, that are not subject to the censors. Remember the effendi above. We need a way to make the antidote. This will take more than mocking, and this conversation can only habben amongst frands. Poke your normie; but create community and bolster your frands too. The latter is far more serious, and far more important.
