So just before the holiday we have comment on the cause of the explosion of the House in Leland some time ago.
WECT with some of the details.
WWAY’s take.
The first thing we should be asking is…sorry to be all negative, but—how stupid are our elites in office?
So the cause is “vapor” that “may have” originated from the “trunk of a car.” One problem with that is that the garage is a focal point, it seems” but the garage door is largely in tact? What the hell?
Call me skeptical. Why? Well for one, vapor does not simply “explode” without a “spark.”
Here is a primer on all this. If it is petrol, it could combust, but there has to be little to no ventilation, and the trunk of a car may suffice, BUT the air also has to be “dry.” Now all of this for petrol is possible, and can, but not usually, since gas is flammable, but the igniting of vapors is quite difficult in general normal circumstances. Try it yourself—go get some gas, fill a jar, light a cigarette, throw cig into the jar, and then wait for….nothing to happen.
Note my friend, Uncle Tony, mechanic extraordinaire:
For petrol to ignite, the concentrations would have to be high in the air and confined with little to no ventilation.
Now, if you own a Tesla or some other EV car, then, yes. Because the batteries heat up, melt, and cause a fire from the heated charge in the electric battery, which then shorts and causes an electrical fire. But this is not that…is it? Likely not, because EV fires do not go out, and they melt cement. They burn hotter than gas.
Regardless, the bottom line is this: the government, the investigators have no idea how the explosion got ignited. And I am not convinced they klnow just kind of vapor they are talking about either. Gas would not cause this in vapor form unless there are unheard of concentrations. The investigators have ruled out drugs, and natural gas as causes.
All of this is rather unacceptable from people who consistently crow about how they are “protecting us” through raising our taxes.
I agree. It doesn’t add up to me. Some folks are speculating a gas from in the ground as they claim it was built on a landfill/swamp.
Guess it's OK to call Leland a "boomtown?" 🤔
