Sluggo’s Violent Rhetoric: She Must Resign
Morally responsible for the Atmosphere that led to Assassination Attempt on Trump
This last week was at once terrible, and also inspiring. Trump emerged a hero against the faction of violence in this country.
It takes quite a lack of self-awareness for Sluggo to post she is praying for a Republican hero like Comperatore. But she is responding to a Democrat governor, because she hates Republicans. This is not a Leland councilwoman who believes in Unity. Her lack of outrage that her party pined for the success of Trump’s would be assassin is proof enough of her lack of compassion.
But, then again, As I have noted in previous posts, Sluggo helped to cause the rhetorical violence Democrats have been fomenting for years now. Let her own actions count as evidence for this claim. I have posted many of these before.
Here she is reposting someone who hopes Trump dies:
Here she is calling Republicans Nazis:
Here she is calling Republicans white supremacists:
Here she is hoping Republicans get bashed more and harder:
Here she is wanting to disarm Republicans, but notice, she has yet to blame the assassin for his use of a gun he did not buy:
Here she is calling a Republican a seditionist:
Here she is calling Republicans stupid, and hating a black man for thinking differently from her (he’s not on her plantation I suppose):
Here she is calling a Hawaiian native (and woman) a white supremacist, even though she served her country honorably in the armed forces:
Here she is saying that Republicans are a part of a Satanic Cult:
Here she is advocating cruel and unusual punishment for Trump, hoping he gets jailed and suffers as a political prisoner:
Here she is saying that Trump supporters are stupid and violent. In the process, she praises Eric Holder, who said that when Republicans are down, you “kick them”:
When Democrats shoot people, she’s not for gun control, but when some member of her coalition of the fringes gets shot, she is oh so for banning guns. Keep in mind, she only wants to disarm Republicans, not Democrats. She’s FOR, say, Republicans getting shot up on a baseball diamond in DC. She has never said anything publicly about members of her party (or the LGBT community) shooting up citizens. She has been silent on the assassin of Trump and his use of his AR15 that he never purchased.
Telling.
Carter has spent years using violent language, or supporting it, against Republicans. She is part of the problem, and is morally responsible for creating an atmosphere of violence while also sitting on the Leland Town Council.
The problem of course is that she is friends with many in her party who are sad Trump was not murdered. Tim Pool has a nice post on Democrats who were sad Trump did not die last week.
All of this to make a point. Carter should resign from her position on the Leland council. Her irresponsible comments, and bigotry against Republicans makes her unfit for office—she cannot be a representative for any Republicans in this town when she is supportive of calls to violence against them.
She and her party caused the assassination attempt on Trump. You do not have to be a Republican to think her political opinions are vile and violent. But her silence on the assassination itself is despicable. Judging from her past public comments, we can all surmise why.
Democrats have always been for forever wars, violence, disunion, and slavery. Pardon us if we do not wish to reside on your plantation.
This guy certainly doesn’t, but I bet Sluggo will call him a white supremacist or something:
RESIGN.
Depressing to me that we still are assassinating politicians in this country. My earliest memory is JFK in 1963. I was 5 years old when he died. Then RFK. Then George Wallace was gunned down in Maryland. Reagan. Giffords. Scalise. Many more I am missing. Political violence is a bipartisan problem. Seems overwhelming to me. What can we do to stop it? But the Town of Leland. This we can deal with. There are more of us than there are of them. In my opinion the argument over whether the council should stay in power is over. Should the town manager keep his job? Over. Should anyone at the director level keep their jobs? Over. Should we decimate the head count? (layoff 1 out 10) Over. Now it's time for us to do the work. We need to overcome voter apathy. We need to overcome the chardonnay commandos that bloviate for entertainment. We need to overcome the voters that approve of what's happening here. And there is a statistically significant number of those. This is as grassroots a situation as there ever was. No one is resigning. Doesn't look like any help is coming through a recall. Forget about the LGA. That fix is in. (As an aside: they received 100 emails opposing the debt increase. 100 out of 30,000 voters. Pathetic. No wonder the council is so bold.) Maybe there are not more of us than them. It's past time for us to do the work. We need 10 citizens to step forward as candidates for office. Two of them for next year and three more for 2027. I am not advocating for keeping the political pot boiling for the next three years. It's time for quiet, consistent effort on all our parts to fix what we have in our power to fix. No cavalry is coming to our rescue. We have to rescue overselves.
