The Upheaval's Big Black Pill
There is a Way Out of Our Political Troubles
I do not usually comment on other substacks I follow, but this one sparked my interest. I thoroughly enjoy The Upheaval written by N.S. Lyons. This poast is a friendly criticism.
Recently, he wrote, It’s not Hypocrisy, You’re Just Powerless, in which he stated many truths. Among them is that the Ruling Class—he calls them Team A—do not give one wit about you peasant (Team B). The sooner you get on the same page as your awesome Oligarch Masters, the sooner you can be enslaved and live without (much) pain.
He also states that it is rather stupid to point out that the Oligarchy gets to do things that you do not—like, you know, stealing documents from the White House and shredding documents, encouraging riots, etc. All of these Team A does but Team B cannot—yet Team A says Team B does it. That is what we call projection.
To point out, as Chris Plante says often, “it’s good to be a Democrat”—he means it is good to be in the Ruling Class—is a foolish waste of time. We all know our “betters” are “superior.” Merely pointing it out is futile. Lyons is absolutely correct in all this.
Quite by chance I heard Sean Hannity (I am not a fan) say about the Trump FBI Raid that no one in the Ruling Class is raiding Hunter. Yawn. No kidding, Sean. Just figure that out? Cthulhu always swims left. We have known for a very long time that they have increasingly secured their position around their interests, and against our interests. Angelo Codevilla wrote about it over a decade ago when he exposed the Ruling Class. Even more, John Marini has been writing about the administrative state and their “superior rationality” for longer.
Lyons is also right about the fact that noticing all this and complaining about it really is juvenile—I would say it is a form of weakness, something the Right knows how to play well. Losers. Codevilla calls many Republicans the junior partner to the Ruling Class, which means the Ruling Class is primarily ruled by Democrats and the Left. The only way to change the situation we find ourselves is to take back the levers of power. Unfortunately, this is where Lyons concludes. How depressing! Many of the comments were black pilled resignations—”we’re screwed.” Game Over.
The Way Forward
I would like to offer another way, or at least not end on such a dour note. While things look awful and our regime is under tremendous stress, all is not lost…yet.
The fact is there is an ongoing redoubt. The Great Sort represents a specific action underway in this country. What is the Great Sort? It is essentially an internal demographic shift. This shift has accelerated over the last 2 years. Those sick of blue, woke politics are leaving blue states/cities for red states. This shift demonstrates a part of the genius of the Founders mechanical scheme—federalism.
The states have a role to play. I wrote a bit about this at the American Mind, here. In essence, the people are escaping the tyranny of blue anon/wokness, and the states governments they control for other states that are more open to liberty. This is called the Great Sort by the smart people who are in tune with what is happening on the ground. In consequence, red states are reasserting their authority through the consent of the governed. This is not only reasonable, but, as the Declaration notes, an enlightened response to woke tyranny.
See the tables below. They represent only a snapshot of the fastest growing cities but it tells some of the story. Expand this to less populated areas in the same states, and you have a massive redistribution of the American populace:
As a part of this great sort, there are a myriad of Gen X and Millenials who are going off grid even to the point of homesteading. This development is inherently a rejection of globalism and its tyranny over life and the soul.
You might object that people who leave will move back, or, the blue mindset will come too with those tho relocate. Dream on blue checker. Not so. Liberty can be intoxicating. Most every one of my neighbors is from NY or some dilapidated and depressing state adjacent. Though anecdotal, they are all MAGA. Yes, ALL of them. I myself am a disaffected resident of So Cal, and I will not go back. The land of milk & honey is ruined at least for the rest of my lifetime.
The particular political make-up of the states under this Great Sort will be a disincentive to blue anon mindset from picking up stakes and moving in the first place. They simply are not brave enough to move into places where they will have to encounter anything outside their hive mind. Besides, the hard core largess of wokeness is cemented to the big cities, and they love their little despotic “civilization.” Let them eat each other there. Normal people will escape and vote for people who want to dismantle the deep state.
Now it’s game on!
We have seen the effects of this shift play out in reality of late. A few examples: In Florida DeSantis is flaunting the FBI terror training by defending the Gadsden flag. It is not the flag that matters here, but the sentiment of the character it attracts—an unashamed defense of our common history. Additionally, he has fired a Soros attorney. These actions, while maybe minor (and are not by any means exhaustive), are nevertheless salutary actions. The old Con inc. strategy would have been to go all Lindsay Graham by writing a memo, then returning to the closet in silence. It’s the GAE way for the minor party to genuflect to the Ruling Class.
In Missouri AG Eric Schmitt sent a letter to the FBI for them to “go search yourself” over the demand the state turn over all gun permits granted for “review.” The states in this case are protecting the 2nd Amendment, the Constitution.
There are countless other examples. But suffice to say the old party system is dead. There is a real and effective pushback against the ruling class underway. Of course, I make it seem simple and easy. It is not going to be that way. None of this defense of our Ancient Liberties will be realized in some systematic way. The nature of political action is full of victories and defeats as much as any fog of war.
Aside from these more public political actions, the Great Sort has created several positive opportunities. It is not spoken of much, but, in the same red states the development of red culture is underway—red banks, red agriculture, red business, red finance, red entertainment, etc. A parallel economy is being created. Is it too late? Maybe. But, there is an actual effort being made. It is a natural human response to tyranny to defend one’s own and what one loves.
Spiritual Warfare
We should mercilessly mock the ruling class. Yes, they can do what the right can’t—advocating the execution of Trump for example (thanks TV General for suggesting this very thing, eunuch). Pointing this out and that the right cannot do that to them is High School, as Lyons appropriately notes. In fact, the left is entirely emotionally high school. Leave them to their internal soap opera with their incestuous bed hopping.
Yet, they hate being made fun of. Do that. We need allies. Do it through memes, and through mockery in words. A little good humored, yet serious, and smartly done will bolster the souls of the innocent and encourage them and it makes the left reveal themselves for the humorless Sheytaan they are. Spiritual warfare is necessary. Josiah Lippincot puts it this way (insert “Ruling Class” for “military”):
Patriotic Americans need to wage their own spiritual (and political) counter-assault against the woke military and its minions. Joe Biden has focused repeatedly on the threat of “white supremacist” domestic terrorism. By this, he means Trump supporters and white Christians who refuse to bend the knee. It is imperative that patriotic Americans do everything in their power to strip our armed forces of legitimacy before America’s military might is turned against its own people. At the very least, we must ensure that Biden and his handlers are not able to launch pointless foreign wars that drain the public treasury but enrich defense contractors and D.C. think tanks.
The ruling class controls the levers of power and can make the right miserable. They are playing a serious game. Ask any J6 innocent about this. So, this does not mean those who love liberty simply sit, and wait, or let Elves or others take care of it—Yarvin’s very bad advice. Letting others do the job that is the responsibility of every good citizen is a recipe for defeat.
Waiting on others to do the work you now must do denies the noble aspects of our Nature, which if appropriately organized, is not inclined to sit back and wait—doing nothing surrenders the noble part of our Nature. As Harry Jaffa always pointed out, mankind has as its quality “the metaphysical freedom of the human mind.” This means as Glenn Ellmers recently penned, there is nothing set in stone. Choices matter. Doing matters; those who do have a better chance of winning.
No Step on Snek
The deep state is run amok. The DOJ, for example, has refused to declass documents related to Russiagate. If you ever wanted one example our overlords hate the consent of the governed, this is one of many examples. Wanna make a wild guess why they won’t declass? Regardless, the point is not that many of our elites belong behind bars. If the levers of power are going to be retaken, it will take more than winning elections, and owning the libs. It is going to take white hats setting traps for black hats, and then setting traps within traps. This will take “elves,” but it is not as exhaustive an answer as some would like it to be. The red-pilled James Howard Kunstler scratched the surface of what this might look like here. People who would be supporters of a new reinvigorated republic have to be discerning enough to see through the fog, and decipher the real outcome. This is, admittedly, most difficult.
For all the 5GW stuff, nothing remains forever languid. 5GW is highly important and is constantly ongoing, but it is only a prelude. Corporate media and alt tech are continually fighting the information war. But none of politics can remain merely in this space. At some point force must be employed—that is, FBI breaking and entering a former president’s house. That’s kinetic; the explanation after is 5GW+. But notice, it took government sanctioned cartel action to get to the 5GW explanation. We got him this time! No one buys such Golden Calf propaganda that is not in the TDS cult. 5GW only works just so much, as Lincoln might say today. People are wise to the attempts by media to make us hallucinate. They are more and more immune to these attempts.
The right, if it is to win, needs to make actual plans, with actual results. We know the elites are clowns, yet no one has really paid for their criminal activity. This has emboldened them. The right is being goaded into a Sumter mistake even though our Oligarchs have already gone mask off. As Michael Anton notes, the preparations on the left all signal they are going to go to the mat. For all their attempts to goad the right into a collossal mistke, the right has been more than patient. This is to be commended. Yet, we must face the possibility the Ruling Class will fire first. Their desperation cannot but lead to this; their ignorance of their own nature (of their own soul-sickness) will end with this result. Knowing this means traps must be set to defeat them—again Kunstler seems to be entertaining these possibilities.
The rest who want to do something can do what they can, and assist in the samizdat—build peaceful community while organizing a successful redoubt. That means going back to earlier in this essay on the role of the states through the reasonable actions of the consent of the governed. Many are doing just that, voting with their feet, moving their families, and investing in a whole new culture of an unwoke parallel economy. This is an action every citizen can and should take upon themselves to accomplish, however small, in order to secure their natural rights.
There is reason to be optimistic even as the regime teeters. Giving up like a serf is not the answer. It certainly is not in the character of the good American citizen.
