Harley/Indian Go Woke
Will it Never End?
In my last post, I wrote about how Royal Enfield represents a move away from big tech transportation in favor of a minimalist option. The reason for that is people understand that simple elegant designs that are reliable, are more conducive to liberty.
As I was writing about the Enfield, another story dropped causing a lot of anger—Harley teamed up with Transheuser Bush in a promotional partnership. Harley World exploded. I cannot blame them.
Veteran Biker called it out first:
Then SoSSe the Ghost and his merry band of MCers, followed suit:
The first thing that should be noted, is that most of the people who ride Harleys are NOT leftists. From Veteran Biker, to Sosse, these are people who love the country and are not brainwashed by the ruling class. You want to see the full scope of MAGA? Look here at these two seemingly disperate people from various walks of life—Harley was a brand that brought these people together, and these people are the base of patriotism.
I probably do not need to explain but the Harley crowd has for decades been a patriotic group. Even in those attempts to make the rider look like lefty props in Hollywood, the real rider was far from the CIA Hollywood teardown of the scandalous biker. Peter Fonda was a grift and fake.
There is a saying today about the modern Harley consumer—these are men (usually) who are ruling class elites who want to play biker on the weekend. They have no real interest, much less skill, to know their bike intimately. They sure as hell cannot do a simple brake pad change. It is these weekend Harley pretenders that the company is appealing to. They get to dress up and “be bad” and after go back to their plush desk job, sit behind their desks, deny their Nature, and be proper and appropriate corporate cogs in the ruling class machine (even “conservatives” do this). They can afford the outrageous prices for the swag, and buy a totally soi boi’d up bike full of techy gadgets. [ ed. by now you should really start getting why Enfield is onto something].
In the meantime, they have no clue what a Knuckle, Pan, Shovel, EVO feels like. In fact they have no idea what those things are.
Veteran Biker rolls on this a bit:
Props to Vet Biker for doing the real work here. THIS is what we need to be focussed on, not the fact Harley went woke. But who allowed this cultish genuflection to happen?
Vet Biker’s criticisms of Harley, their CEO and their Board, caught the attention of the company, and they tried to shut him up. His account follows:
The CEO has a basic point and plan—to scale back production and serve only the rich normie with overpriced bikes. Sell less; increase margins. Q1 2023 seems to be working, well except for that Livewire failure. See below the summary, you can read the entire Q1 here:
Looks pretty good huh? Revenues up! Oh but wait, Harley sales, what about that?
Down everywhere, except in Asia. The Mongols are keeping Harley alive. I credit The Hu for all that (the Great Khan is pleased):
So Harley’s business plan is to sell less, profit more, and rid the entry rider from their stores. Not very smart.
In the aftermath of the alliance with Bud, many Harley guys stated they would go to Indian. Not so fast. Indian partners with Jack Daniels. Let’s check in to see how Tennessee whiskey is doing:
There are so many companies going woke that it is tough to keep up. Can we boycott all of them? The Bud boycott continues, which is impressive. But as more and more of the cult line up corporate entities, what will be left? We need parallel businesses to be sure. Ones that feed our daily lives, not specialty brands we buy every now and then. That means food, drink, medicine, and, other daily use manufacturing products. Step lively MAGA. There’s lots of work to do.
As it pertains to Harley, many stated they were selling their Harley and would never buy another again. My comment to Sosse was this: we should never buy a NEW Harley while this CEO and board are in place. Let them feel our ire. But when it comes to the older Harleys in the used market, rescue them.
We should preserve the honorable history of Harley when they earned our respect. Saving and restoring older Harleys preserves for the young, the way things were done, and how they should continue to be done. It is the biggest FU to Harleys current business model and leadership we can make.
So don’t sell or trash your old Harley. We need those bikes on the road—Pan, Shovel, Evo, Twin Cam…save them. Cherish them. And send Harley a message by restoring them and not buying another new bike from them until they repent.
Parting Note: Season 4 of Osman just concluded. Expect a wrap this coming week.

Totally agree with you, Eric. I passed through Wilmington last week on my new BMW and thought about looking you up. I traded in the 5 year old Electra Glide because it had become unreliable, and the dealership nor the HOG group could care less. As you can imagine, it was an electrical problem related to the CAN bus. Totally knocked me out of riding to the Barber vintage festival. In all honesty, BMW isn’t any better with customer service, and it’s loaded with enough electronics to put the Harley to shame. I’m keeping my Dyna Evo though, as a backup plan.
